My holistic experiences

**5/11 My holistic doctor

I found a holistic doctor in Austin, thanks to a recommendation from my friend.  (If you want to know his name I'll be happy to share, he is a chiropractor). This has  been a great experience!  My goal is to get off my thyroid medication permanently.  I've seen him twice so far.  He did a bunch of tests that came with the initial visit, and gave me an iodine patch.  After it faded 4 hours later, it was determined that I am iodine deficient.  He also said that my adrenal glands are fatigued because they have been fighting to get all of the iodine they could out of my medication.   I began supplmenting with a special type of iodine, ADHS, to get my adrenal glands back on track, and another thyroid support supplement.  I did this for 6 weeks and came back to visit.  I lost more weight, all of my tests improved, and he suggested I cut my dosage in half.  I've been taking half a pill each morning for the last 2 weeks, and feel great!  Although he can't officially take me off my meds, he can guide me, and it's my choice, and hopefully I will be free of my thyroid meds soon!

**11/11 Update

I just got back some blood results from my holistic doctor.  I am now on 1/4th of my Levothyroxine thyroid pill, and feel great! I'm still taking my homeopathics.  I'm going into the hyper range now, which means my supplements are working.  Hoping I'll get to be free of my medication soon!

**11/11 My colonics experience

I recently had my first colonics session, or "hydrotherapy".  I went to Rock Solid Health in Round Rock, and it was a great experience. The nurse did not make me feel uncomfortable at all.  I was alone when I "set everything up", you are covered up, and the nurse leaves you alone, and knocks on the door before she periodically checks on you.  The whole session lasted about 45 minutes, but went by extremely quick.  It felt funny at first, but was painless.  I did learn that they use an "open system", do not use a closed system, it's not continuous and someone has to sit there with you the whole time to flush water into your system and flush it out (ewww!)
I felt so clean and light when I finished.  I will be going back after the holidays. Check them out, http://www.http//roundrockcolonhydrotherapy.com/

**11/11 My thermography experience

I've been told, given my family history, that once I turn 30 I should start having mammograms.  Of course, I would never have a mammogram, so I schedule my first thermogram. It took 15 minutes, with a "camera" taking images showing infrared heat.  The images were sent to doctors who analyze the patterns, then mail you results.  This was my baseline test.  I then just came again, 3 months later, did the exact same thing, and just got back my results saying everything looks normal.  I will go for my yearly thermogram again next year.  I went to "Picture Your Health" in Austin.  http://www.pictureyourhealth.com/
